i hear sugar helps the medicine go down

On June 30th my grandpa passed away.  He had been battling the affects of congestive heart failure for almost two years and the grown up parts of me have joy knowing he is set free. Another part of me is still trying to own the fact that none of my biological grandparents remain and that an era tying me to my youth has passed.

My grandpa to me is synonymous with endless summer days, the smell of salt water, rope swings, row boats, green trucks, outdoor showers, glass floats, white undershirts, corn stalks, winding roads and savings bonds.  I didn't know him well in my adulthood.  But it's youthful unawareness that creates those perfect vignettes.  I do know that he loved me and my sisters and my cousins very much.

Thank you Grandpa for all that you gave to your family.

That's a sweet tribute to your grandpa. Praying that God continues to comfort all of you. The photos of the kids are really "sugar". So sweet!

Better yet...lets make it easier on both of us and meet half way at a place our kids can play...like a park or something...any ideas?

Sara, this brought tears to my eyes...Grandparents are so special and such an important part of our childhood and growing up. I'm sorry to hear that you've lost yours.

LOVE the close-up of Bradie! You and Marcus sure make some good-lookin' babies!
